KDVR-TV Fox 31/KWGN Channel 2 in Denver has an exciting opportunity for a Producer who thrives on a morning program. You must be competitive, passionate about aggressive breaking news and severe weather coverage, with the ability to craft content specifically for a morning audience.
You will work closely with anchors, reporters, directors, assignment editors and other members of Colorado’s largest morning news team, which produces eight hours of news each weekday.
Excellent news judgment, communication skills, contemporary production techniques, and knowledge of social media and multi-platform journalism are required. You will be expected to contribute ideas for new program segments and unique, enterprise stories. You should be able to bring a sense of urgency and immediacy to our shows. And, we are looking for someone who understands the importance of personality, spontaneity and creativity in a morning show.
Our ideal candidate should have at least three years of producing experience, including morning news. A college degree and knowledge of Colorado is preferred.
Responsibilities:
-Extensive experience in breaking news and severe weather coverage.
-Plan, organize and execute content; build rundowns and graphics, write stories; brainstorm with other Producers, Executive Producer, and other newsroom leaders on the use contemporary production techniques, including animations, graphics, lower thirds and new forms of media (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance the show.
-Contribute content to our two websites, KDVR.com & KWGN.com, including attaching images and streaming video.
-Actively use social media to engage our audience and promote our programs.
-Produce special projects, as needed.
