BOULDER, Colo. --  – Just hours after the death of one of pop’s most popular artists ever, Colorado musicians are remembering the impact Whitney Houston had on their lives.

“Its just a shame that it keeps on going and going, the lessons are never learned," said Barry Fey, a long-time concert promoter in the Denver area.

Fey was just one of hundreds to celebrate Sunday’s Colorado Hall of Fame induction ceremony, in which Fey himself was being honored.

The death of Houston is sending shock waves throughout the music community, a community that’s become smaller and smaller with the deaths of icons like Michael Jackson and others in recent years.

“It’s always sad, these last couple of years with Michael, now Whitney, and of course some other artists, its always sad for our industry, really for the whole world.” said Chuck Morris, a music agent and promoter in Boulder.

Sunday’s ceremony at the University of Colorado brought out musicians, promoters, and industry insiders to recognize the achievements of those in Colorado’s music industry.
